@ the station

I saw anxiety flicker in her blue eyes as she surveyed the other passengers in Tampa's Union Station. Not unlike the anxiety she registered the time I took her to hear Janine Antoni speak about the plaster casts of her breasts, and similar to the anxiety I see whenever I announce the provenance of my most recent ethnic love affair.

"Mommy, do you ever wish that you had a normal daughter?"

A radiant smile took over her face. "Oh nooooooo! Whenever I hear my partners talk about their sons and daughters who are lawyers and accountants, I think, 'Thank goodness Audra's not like that!'"

"Mommy, do you think I'll be the only person on the bus with a yoga mat?"

"I don't know. But you could use it as a neck bolster."

I'm glad you're not normal, whatever that means. See you Wednesday at NFC!

I love the Kinks' "I'm not Like Everybody Else":

I won't take all that they hand me down,
And make out a smile, though I wear a frown,
And I won't take it all lying down,
'Cause once I get started I go to town.

'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

And I don't want to ball about like everybody else,
And I don't want to live my life like everybody else,
And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else,
'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

But darling, you know that I love you true,
Do anything that you want me to,
Confess all my sins like you want me to,
There's one thing that I will say to you,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else
And I don't want to ball about like everybody else,
And I don't want to live my life like everybody else,
And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else,
'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

Like everybody else,
Like everybody else,
Like everybody else,
Like everybody else.

If you all want me to settle down,
Slow up and stop all my running 'round,
Do everything like you want me to,
There's one thing that I will say to you,
I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.
And I don't want to ball about like everybody else,
And I don't want to live my life like everybody else,
And I won't say that I feel fine like everybody else,
'Cause I'm not like everybody else,
I'm not like everybody else.

Like everybody else (like everybody else),
Like everybody else (like everybody else),
Like everybody else (like everybody else),
Like everybody else.

Irma I am so stunned just now. I looked at poster Jody's profile and saw he's the Mythago guy. When I first started using the Internet (around 1995) I discovered www.mythago.com and found it the most beautiful and aesthetic Website ever. I lost track of it when the URL changed. Tell Jody I love his work and that he has a big fan in Europe!

Caro Indeterminacy,

THAT IS SO COOL! I most certainly will tell him. And I can tell you that not only his work, but his entire person is extremely beautiful. That boy has Love and good energy oozing out his pores and shining out of his blue eyes.
